A series of round table discussions in CFO Magazine have addressed the subject of doing business with BRIC countries. The June edition featured the last and most vibrant BRIC country – Brazil. Belofloripa – as a beacon and first point of contact for anyone who wants to trade with Brazil – explains its interesting take on things.
The country has a great deal more to offer than just samba and football. Any outsider who wants to enjoy success in the Brazilian business world must – to an even greater extent than in Russia, India or China – first embrace the local culture. It is also essential to find one’s way around the incredibly complex and fragmented fiscal regime operated by the Brazilian authorities. But above all, Brazil is a forward-looking country with a huge potential sales market and a sustainably growing economy.
The discussants were Grace Keli de Aguilar Gomes (Managing Director of Belofloripa), Daan Schalck (CEO of the Ghent Port Company), Pascaline della Faille (Country Risk Analyst at the ONDD (Belgian public credit insurance agency) and Annelise Warrington (Senior Manager CGT Coordinator Customs & Global Trade at Deloitte).
