In the current economy, companies are feeling the need to approach the local and international markets from a strong home base. Doing business efficiently nowadays equals taking specialized advice from experts. De Tijd confirms this and reports on the growing demand for specialized advice and the job growth at consultancy firms. But why do SME’s have this need for specialized advice and guidance?
On the one hand, there is a huge vertical growth in business, characterized by internationalization, the growth of social media on a world scale, the murdering competition and new IT solutions. To be well inversed in all these different aspects as a manager or an employee is almost impossible. On the other hand, and despite the efforts of the goverment, the loan cost remains high and, as a consequence, companies do not easily hire new employees. These factors cause companies to look for efficient and low cost methods to achieve the necessary specialized knowledge. Consultancy is after all specialization and tailor-made guidance.
The Flemish Government is also aware of this trend and in response, they announced the simplification of the subsidy system KMO-Portefeuille. Starting in April, the different categories for accredited services will become one. Furthermore, the treatment of grant applications will become completely automatic. It will also be possible to apply for a growth subsidy, where the service provider doesn’t need to be accredited.
More information on the new KMO-Portefeuille is available here.
The growing demand for advice leads to an increase of consultants and as a company, it is not always clear which partner one should choose. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance to verify that your consultant has the necessary knowledge and experience to meet your needs. Forwarned is forearmed.
