Project Port of Vitória – Port of Ghent
Belofloripa functions as an intermediary between the Port of Vitória and the Port of Ghent. The object is to create a close cooperation between the two ports, but also to introduce Flemish knowledge and input with regards to the further expansion of the port.
Why the Port of Vitória?
The state of Espírito Santo, of which Vitória is the capital, is situated in the Southeast of Brazil, relatively close to the important production and consumption capitals São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Vitória already has 3 sea ports that are connected to an extensive network of trains, airways and roads. The expansion of the new port, together with the 3 existing ports, will make Vitória the first Latin American city with a deep sea port for container ships. The modern terminal will contribute to the fast and efficient delivery of goods to the Brazilian consumer.
